SSL Certificate

Your apartment has been fitted with a WiFi Wall Plate that is capable of taking direct (Ethernet) connections from devices such as Smart TVs and other networkable components.

There are 2 Ethernet sockets in each wall plate that allow you to connect devices directly.

Using the wall plate for WiFi enabled devices will require authentication via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) which is responsible for providing our encryption.

If connecting a WiFi device, you should always 'accept' the SSL Certificate when prompted - this will ensure that your device will connect wirelessly to the WiFi wall plate.

IMPORTANT: There are some wireless devices that have issues accepting the SSL certificate via the pre-installed WiFi wall plate. Unfortunately, the WiFi wall plate cannot provide a different method of the SSL authentication.

There are options if you are trying to connect a device that is unsupported (i.e. does not prompt you to accept the SSL certificate):

1. Connect to the LAN port [Dual Port Wall Plate] located in your Living room.  If all ports are taken you can connect a small switch

2. Connect a Wireless Access Point to the LAN port and setup your own home wireless which uses a lower form of wireless security that allows you to connect your device wirelessly.
